Special Guests & Musicians

    Jon Abel
Texas-based Worship Leader/Artist Jon Abel never dreamed of "doing music" for a living. His mom and dad surprised him with a guitar for his high school graduation so this was an unlikely forecast for Jon's life. Fast-forward a few God-directed years and in addition to playing events/concerts nation-wide, Jon leads worship on Sunday mornings at his home church, Highland Park Presbyterian’s 1105 gathering in Dallas. “In the context of this community is where I get refueled and sent out to go and do what I do,” Abel says. “Community is where life was meant to be lived so I'm very fortunate to have a home base of family and friends that support me and what I do.”

A songwriter with Nashville's Universal/Brentwood Benson Music, Jon’s song “Awesome Is The Lord Most High” (entitled “Most High” on Jon’s most recent More Than This album) was recently covered on both the Passion: Everything Glorious CD and Chris Tomlin’s two-time Grammy nominated See The Morning album.

Partnering again with producer/artist Cary Pierce and with songs co-written with Cary, Brandon Heath, Chad Cates, Chris Tomlin, Don Chaffer, and Jeff Johnson, Jon’s new album, Back To You (2007), was written with a “vertical” goal in mind; for the Church to sing in worship. With the same pop/rock feel as More Than This, this is Jon at his best, doing what he was made to do.

    Warren Barfield
North Carolina-born singer/songwriter Warren Barfield is on a mission to make the truly important things important again in his life. Things like faith, love, marriage, children, truth, and with his songs, he challenges us all to do the same. Martin Luther King Jr. said, "If a man hasn't discovered something that he will die for, he isn't fit to live." Warren has found those things in his faith, his wife, and his belief in love. "These are the things I would die for; things I will wake up every morning and spend my day fighting for."
