Tommy NelsonThe Peace of Prophecy

I am excited about our new Bible study curriculum release on the book of Daniel.  I want to take a moment to tell you about how it can change your life.

God said to Abraham, “Shall I hide from Abraham what I am about to do?” (Gen 18:17)  He then disclosed to Abraham his intent to destroy Sodom and put in motion Abraham’s intercession for Lot. One of the privileges of being God’s chosen was knowledge of the future.  And not only the knowledge of it but being able to fall in line with the working of God.  One of our privileges as Christians is to have before us the book of God – The Bible. In it we see where the universe is from and where it is going.  Jesus said of the book of Revelation “which God gave Him to show to His bondservants.” The people of God are meant to know what is coming as “a lamp shining in a dark place”. (2 Peter. 1:19)  Prophecy is not just a privilege.  It sobers us in our approach to life because we know that He shall appear.  It gives us comfort for we know that at His appearing “we shall all be together with the Lord.” (1 Thess. 4:17)  It gives to us perseverance for we know that evil shall be put in its place and righteousness exalted.  It clarifies our values.  When you know that “the earth and all its works shall be burned up” and His kingdom will be eternal then all of the temporal things of life fade into the realness of the meaningless.  Insider trading is illegal in business because knowing the future gives one an immense advantage – You are assured of investing in a winner; such as prophecy.
